5. Steins;Gate Opening: Hacking The Gate
This inventive and catchy opening is a perfect match for the masterpiece that is Steins;Gate. It's dark, and grim, yet hopeful, as if there's a light at the end of the tunnel of sorrow. Considering the show we're talking about...yeah, you can't get a better counterpart. The graphics are also truly a sight to behold. Now, excuse me as I sing along to this song; HACKING TO THE GATE!!!!!!!!
4. Angel Beats! Opening: My Soul, Your Beats
This opening is beautiful and heartbreaking, much like the show itself. Yeah, Angel Beats! has its major problems, especially in the second half, but the show's first half is fantastic, and this opening is such a great accompaniment. It also uses the piano as its main instrument, which just makes me love it even more.
3. Attack on Titan Opening 1: Feuerroter Pfeil
Is anyone surprised that this opening is near the top of this list? No, didn't think so. I don't know what I can say about this opening that hasn't been said already, and I'm pretty sure you all know this opening's impact on the show itself (it's almost as famous as the show, which is saying something). Well, it's powerful, it's epic, it's over-the-top, it's animated beautifully, and it's awesome; just like the show itself.
2. Durarara!! Opening 1
This may come as a surprise to some people, as most people prefer the second opening over the first (I think). Well, I happen to absolutely love the first opening of this show. It's calming, yet exciting at the same time. It features all the characters, and just captures the atmosphere of the anime perfectly. Durarara!! may not be the most flawless anime on the planet, but it's still a new favorite of mine and its opening does nothing but help that.
And now, my #1 favorite anime opening of all time is...
1. Jormungand Opening 1: Borderland
I freaking love this opening to death. It's a combination of everything I need in an opening; catchy lyrics, a fast beat, and great visuals to go along with it. This opening is what kept me awake while studying for finals, and continues to be my motivation for most of my work. Every time I listen to it, I'm always pumped for something, and I don't think I'll ever get sick of it. Listen to it; you won't regret it.
